"I'M ADAM LEVOWITZ, AND THIS IS MY ORCHESTRA"
We are an 11-18+ piece band made up veteran Broadway musicians who have played in the pits for almost every Brodway and touring show produced in the last 10 years. We are a showband that plays venues like the world famous BB Kings Blues Club and Grill in New York City, the Howard Theatre in Washington, DC. Our Soundtracks Live In Concert Series are themed around popular films but the focus is the music and the original artists. The arrangements pay homage to the original versions but have a new sound that is unique to the Adam Levowitz Orchestra (ALO).
The orchestra debuted The Quentin Tarantino Songbook, Vol. 1: Music from Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown in January 2016 in New York City’s alphabet city and quickly moved uptown to Times Square’s B.B. King’s Blues Club & Grill. The ALO is touring the Washington, DC area with multiple shows at the historic Howard Theatre. The Tarantino show features nearly 30 songs from the films including “Across 110th Street” by Bobby Womack, “Let’s Stay Together” by Al Green, “Little Green Bag” by the George Baker Selection, “Son of A Preacher Man” by Dusty Springfield and of course, Chuck Berry’s “You Never Can Tell” from the famous Twist Contest scene in Pulp Fiction
The Blues Brothers Soundtrack: music from the original 1980 Motion Picture. This is not a tribute to the SNL comedy team but rather is a celebration of the history and importance of the blues and gospel music. This show features “Think” by Aretha Franklin, “She Caught The Katy” by Taj Mahal, “Boom Boom” by John Lee Hooker, “Let The Good Times Roll” by Louis Jordan.
